Rebekah joined Blackburn Law in 2024. Prior to that, her journey spanned both continents and disciplines, from her roots in Oxford, England, to her academic pursuits in Winnipeg and Halifax.

After emigrating from England to Canada and earning a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in History from the University of Manitoba, Rebekah moved to Halifax in 1999 to pursue her law degree at Dalhousie University. She practiced in Halifax until 2014 when she returned to Winnipeg to run a Public Sector Advocacy Office for 3.5 years. In 2018, she moved back to Halifax because “Nova Scotia is home”.

Rebekah’s career spans over two decades, encompassing various roles in private practice, government, in-house counsel and the non-profit sector. Focusing on administrative, labour and employment law, Rebekah has represented clients before numerous courts and tribunals across Nova Scotia and beyond. Her career highlights include working with amazing clients to navigate good solutions, successfully leading operations through labour disputes, negotiating collective agreements and mentoring HR professionals and fellow lawyers. Rebekah’s commitment to advocacy extends beyond the courtroom, as evidenced by her volunteer work with organizations like World Vision Canada, Victoria Hall, the Canadian Bar Association and the Halifax Jazz Festival.

Joining the team at Blackburn Law, Rebekah brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence. She finds joy in collaborating with her colleagues, assisting clients through challenging situations and fostering a culture of understanding and support.

Outside of work, Rebekah enjoys spending time with loved ones, being active in her Church, walking, yoga, reading and being outdoors. Guided by the mantra of kindness, Rebekah continues to make a positive impact in both her professional and personal endeavours.
